The Bank of South Australia haa declared a dividend of 5 per cent, for the }ialf-year ending 31st December last, and oarries forward £4000 to the reserve fund. The Court dismissed Mr Bradlaugh's appeal against the disallowing of his demurrer in the action of Clark v. Bradlaugh, to recover penalties from the latter for sitting and voting in the House of Commons without first taking the oath. It is generally expeoted in European political circles that Greece will acquiesce in the proposals made by Turkey, aud approved by the Powers for the settlement of the frontier question. A bulletin issued this morning Btates that Lord Beaconsfield passed a quiet night, and is no worse since his relapses set in. Hopes are still entertained of His Lordship's recovery.
Calcutta, March 31. Intelligence has been received from Afghanistan that a large body of Heratis and Kandaharis are in rebellion against Ayoub Khan at Herat, and are besieging; the city.
