Wellington, Tuesday.
At the Magistrate's Court to-day the proprietor of the Victoria Hotel was fined LI for receiving a ring in pledge for drink supplied. The Government have decided to release two of the Maori prisoners confined in the Hokitika Gaol ; one on account of his suffering from consumption, and the other in order that he may accompany the invalid home. Both belong to the Hapu of Titokowaru
