CAMBRIDGE HORSE SALE. Mr J. S. Bucki \n» reports :— At the Cambridge Horse bale on Saturday last less business was transacted than on the prevtous Saturday. One draught horse was sold at Ll6, and thirteen light hacks and weeds were knocked down at the auction at from L; 5s to LlO 15s each. Messrs \V. J. Hunter and Co. report that they held their usual monthly c.ittlc sale on Thursday. A largo number of c.ittle, fat and store, were yarded, though the qu.ility was not first class. OHAUPO LIVE STOCK SALE. Mr J. S. Buckland reports: — At the Ohaupo Live Stock Sale, on Tuesday last, 273 head of cattle were yarded ; 59 head were passed, and 214 sold at the auction. 6p well-bred three-year-old steers, in good condition, from Tonganro, averaged L 5 ijs 6d ; two-jcjr-old steers, L 3 5s to L 4 ; dry cows, good quality, L 3 to L 3 10s ; inferior, L 2 to L 3 ; two- y car-old heifers, L 2 10s to L 3; tahes, mixed sexes, 27s to 355; dairy cows, L 5 i/s 6d to L 7 ss. Sheep were penned in large numburs, but very few were sold. Fat sheep brought (ewes and wethers), 7s to 8s 3d; fat cattle-, 16s to 20s per ioolbs.

AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. Mr Alfred Auckland's Weekly Ruport.~At the H.iym«irkct, on Tuesday, hides and skins were better represented th in usual. Hides ranged as high as 4 3-i6ths the Ib. ; pelts, is3s; sheepskins, 2s id to 4s sd each; hair, }£d; wool, 6'Jd to 8d the lb. — At Remuera^ on Thursday, dairy cattle wore numerous, and in steady inquiry at an advance 111 values; store cattle were fairly represented, grow n cattle at low values, but young cattle in brisk mquiiy. Fat cattle of good quality were in full number — 180 head yarded. At the opening of the sale pi ices were higher than last week about 5s each, but fell to last week's values as the sale proceeded, varying with quality from 20s to 235, averaging about 22s the loolbs. for Auckland-tatted cattle, but ship borne were at 18s the ioolbs. Napier \\ ethers of good quality, fairly fatted, brought from us 6d to 13s 6d; Auckland-bred wethers, 13s 6d to 15s; aged ewes, 8s to 9d 6d. There has been continued activity in the market, and notwithstanding that above an average number have been brought forward, purchasers have been found at fully the previous week's rates. The Durham Yards were well filled on Friday. Ihe demand was steady throughout the sale, and, with scarcely an exception, those m were disposed of .it satisfactory prices. We quote hacks at L 5 10s to Lig 15s; light harness horses, Lr2 15s to L 22; medium draught, L2t to L2B. — Cattle : There has been a marked improvement in the demand, and the supply not being quite so large, as a. consequence, prices advanced, and wo hope the alteration may be sustained. .Scarcely the usual number were yarded on Tuesday, at Newmarket. Competition was spirited throughout the sale. Dairy cows and fat beasts advanced fully Li per head, but there was no perceptible difference in stores. Sheep: Ihepens were fairly well filled at Newmarket, on Tuesday, and there was an upward tendency in prices for best description of wethers ; but indifferently fatted and stores were comparatively neglected.— Lambs : Very few yarded. Prices ranged from 6« 6d to us 3d.— Pigs : Very few yarded. Pi ices were high, and there is an unsatisfied demand. THAMES CATTLE MARKET. Messr* Banks and Co.'s Weekly Report.— On Thursday fot cattle were yarded in less numbers than last week, but owing: to the butchers having heavy stocks oil hand, the supply was equal to the requirements, and late rates were realised. The sheep pens were well filled from Mr Alley's flock, mostly prime wethers. The bidding was slow, and the seller's price was difficult to obtam. Lambs were scarce. Those iola made 10s each. The price of best beef was 24* per loolbs. ; no second quality was offered. Pnmo wether mutton brought from 2d to 2|d per lb.
