ST. PATRICK'S DAY SPORTS AND AMUSEMENTS.
The anniversary of St. Patrick will be celebrated in various* parts of Waikato in accordance with time-honored custom. There will be two race meetings — one at Kihikihi, and the other at Piako, both of which promise to be quite up to the average of couutry race meetings. The last-named will be supplemented by a series of foot sports, which will aho doubtless hare their supporters and admirers. At Te Awatnutu there will be a grand ball, under the patronage of the Cavalry, for the purpose of raising funds to pay off the balance of the debt on the Band instruments. Members of the Cambridge and Hamilton Troops will be gladly welcomed. At Ngaruawabia, amusement will take the form of a concert, in connection with the Presbyterian Church, and promises to be a very successful affair; while at Hamilton, in addition to any impromptu sports that may be organised, the members of the Magnet Variety Troupe will give a grand performance in aid of the funds of the Hamilton Band. We trust that our readers in various parts of the district will thoroughly enjoy their holiday.
