AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.
Mr Alfred Hucktand's Weekly report. — On Friday List fodder was in better request that of Lite; prices ranged from 2s 6d to -4s 3d the cwt. Horse stock offcied in full number, and met with •1 f.ur demand; the class most in request continue to be active medium draft; prices were without alteration. At the hide and skin sale, on Tuesday, hides, ranged from z\ to 3J the lb.; sheepskins' is 6d to isgd each; Limb's wool, 6^d and yd the Ib.; tallow, 19s the cwt. — At Waiuku, on Saturday last, the cattle yarded were generally joung, and found ready buj'crs at satisfactory puces among the settlers in the neighbourhood. — At I'ukckohc, on Monday, a smaller than usual muster of cattle weie yarded. Cows were comparatively unsaleable, but all young stock were quitted at current values. — At Remuera, on 'lliur^day, dairy cows, near calving, were in greater number than usual, and better enquiry than for some weeks. Prices lor useful cows ranged fiom £8 to £10 ics each. Fat rattle were jarded m usual number; 1 \y sold, and of excellent quality. Prices were steady throughout the sale, virying with quality from 2IS to 23s the loolbs. Sheep wore in moderate supply and slightly better worth, prices varying from 2$ to 2J the lb. Store pigs were numerous and in brisk enquiry, at extreme prices. Messrs Hunter and Nolans Weekly report. — Hoiscs. — A fair number have been brought forward, and found purchasers. There was a good muster at the Durham Yards, on Friday, and almost without exception were disposed of at fair prices, comparing favourably with the pievjous week — Hides, Skins, Wool and Tallow. — Hides were in steady demand, at from jid to 3! ; skins, from is nd to 4s 2tl; wool, from s^d to 7^d; tallow, /2S o.d —Cattle. — With the exception of good dairy cows, there has been an adequate supply nnd steady demand. Reef had a slightly upward tendency, and there was little alteration in the value of stores, although there was an improvement in the demand. — At Newmarket on Tuesday dairy cows were short of requirements, and stores were not over plentiful ; but at Pukekohe on Wednesday there was a large number yarded, for which lhcre was good competition, and sales worn satisfactory to vendors. Fat beasts of good quality ad\am cd a shade in value, while those in indifferent condition were comparatively neglected. — Sheep were in adequate" supply and demand, there being no noteworthy alteration in value. Lambs were lather scarce, and sold at from 6s 6d to 15s 3d. — Pigs were again yarded in numbers short of requirements, and sold at extreme ratci. Mr. J. S. Buckiaxd reports th.it at the Ohaupo Sale on Tuesday, there was but a moderate attend mcc of buyers, and 85 head of cattle were \ardcd. Weaned cahes realised from 30s to 37s od; jearling heifers, £■;; dry cows, £3 to £4 ss; two-year-old steers, £\ 2s 6d to £n beef, from 20s to 22s Cd per toolbs. ; 50 fat wethers realised us 6d to 11 s od each ; store ewes, 4s jd to 45 6d ; lambs, 5s 6d Ss 3d.
