SPORTS ON BOXING-DAY.

The programme of sports in Waikato for Boxing-day includes tho following: — In the day there will be sports, consisting of running, jumping, &c, on Sydney Square Hamilton East ; apcrts comprising footraces, athletic sports, and horseracing at Alexandra, and the annual Race meeting at Ngaruawahia. At the latter there will be six events, the amount to be given in prizes will be about £80 or £90 . Some very good sport may be anticipated. In the evening there will be a grand concert at Alexandra for the benefit of Herr L. Muller, the bandmaster, at which the best local talent will assist. At Hamilton there will.be a promenade concert in the beautiful grounds attaohed to Gwynnes Hotel in aid of the funds for payiner for the prizes for the children of the Hamilton West School. The organisers have worked very hard to make the affair a success, and have secured the assistance of all the best amateur performers in the place. The Hamilton Light Infantry Band hare also kindly consented to play a number of selections during the evening. A great treat may be looked forward to. It has been arranged to run up a flag at the hotel at five o'olock as a signal that the weather will be fine enough to hold the concert. If the flag does not appear at that hour the concert will not come off.
