KIHIKIHI HIGHWAY DISTRICT BOARD. Notice is hereby given, *.hat it is the intention of the Kihikihi Town Board to MEET on Friday, the 31st December next, at 7 p.m., in the Kihikihi Hotel, to make a rate of Ninepence in the £ on the value of the rateable property within tue said' district for the twelve months 'from Ist April, 1880, te 31st March, 1881; and that the said rate' shall be payable in one sum on the 15th January, 1881, at the re'idencj of the Collector, Mr H. AUCKLAND AND TE AWAMUTU RAILWAYS. Christmas and New Year's Holidays ON CHRISTMAS EVE a late Train will leave Auckland at 11.15 p.m for Mercer and Intermediate Stations, Passengers only. Christmas Day Trains will run as on Sundays. On Monday, December 27th, 1880, Saturday, January Ist, and Monday, January 3, 1881, no Goods. The 12 noon Train from Auckland, 11.30 a.m. Train from Te Awamutu, and 6.25 a.m from Mercer, will run as usnai. The 4. 1 5 p. m. train from Auckland will be postponed to 6 p.m.. Trains to the Races leave Auckland every 20 mins. during a portion of the day. Tickets — Auckland Newmarket, Mount Eden, and Onehuuga to Racecourse Platform, One Shilling Each, (irrespective of Class) ; including admission to Racecourse, Three Shillings. Passecgers not allowed to break the journey at Racecouise Platform with other tickets. Persons not providing themselves with tickets will be charged both wayn, as tickets cannot be procured in the train*. Tickets to Racecourse Platform can be obtained at all Stations. No Change given < n the Race Days at Auckland, Newmarket, M^unt Eden and Onehunga. Single Tickets issued' from Friday, December 24th, to Wednesday, January sth '81 (inclusive), will be available for Return any Station to any Station, provide the fare is not less than One Shilling. Eaipara Railway On Christmas Day no trains will run. Single Fares for Return Journey, any Station to any Station from December 24th, 1880, to January sth, 1881 (inclusive), provided the fare is not less than One Shilling. A. Y. Separate Written Tenders will be received until Noon of SATURDAY, the 15th January, 18dl, for tho Supply and Delivery of Coal and Coke. They must bo addressed to the General Manager of New Zealand Kail ways, Wellington, and marked outside, " Tonder for Coal." Specifications can be seen, and forms of Tender obtained at tho Offices of the Railway Managers, at Auckland, AVhanparei, Napier, Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Nelson, Picton, Greymouth, Wettport, Christchurch, and Dunedin. Telegraphic Tenders will be received, if presented at any Telegraph Office by Noon of the bame date, provided that Written Tendors in due form are lodged at a Railway Manager's Office by the same hour.
