Fresh Meat Importation. London, December 17.

Tne arrival of the Orient steamship from Australia with a shipment of Australian fresh meat, which was made by the owners of the Orient Company, was the occasion of a grand luncheon on board the vessel to-day, when the various dishes served consisted of imported meat. A number of guests ware invited, including many leading colonists. Sir Julius Vogel, Sir Arthur Blyth, *• r Stanton, and Sir Daniel Cooper were present, and made speeches on the occasion. Sir Daniel Cooper advised that steps be taken to steadily develop a trade in fresh meat from the colonies withont attempting to force its sale in the London Market.
