LAST NIGHT'S NEWS. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.]
Auckland, Last Night. A boy aged 10, son of the lighthouse keeper at Tiritiri, fell over a cliff while gathering Christmas flowers. The body has not yet been found. He is supposed to have fallen into the sea. Mr J. McCosh Clark in taking office as the new Mayor specially set out as his object the improvement of the water supply and a reduction in the charges, and settlement of disputes between the City and Harbor Board.
Wellington, Last Night. An official telegram reports that some trig, stations on the Parihaka block have been destroyed by the natives. The surveyors report that they saw them through the tield-glass in the very act of destruction. The resignation of Mr Oliver as Minister of Mines and that of Mr Rolleston as Minister of Education have been formally placed in the Governor's hands this afternoon, and the appointments of Mr Rolleston as Minister of Mines and Mr Dick as Minister of Education signed by the Governor.
