Auckland Cattli Market.— Mr. Alfred BuckUnd's Weekly Report.— At the Haymarket, on Friday last, the supply of fodder from the country was very limited ; but, unless of firrtclass quality, prices were nominnl — js to 2s the cwt.— but first-class hay was fairly competed for, and as high as £$ per ton obtained for it. Bran, $s lod the cwt. ; oat*, 2s id and 2s 3d ; maize, 2s $d to 3s id the bushel. Horse stock were in full supply, and of a good class. Strong unbroken draught stock brought from £25 to £40 ; medium draught, £15 to £20; hacks, from £6 to £10. On

On Frid.n, notwithstanding the number submitted by am tion \vcrebelo\v the a\i;rage, bidding was slow; but eventually all in were disposed of. No high prices uere obtained, bub about last week's r.ites ruled for similar stamp ot horse. Wool, hides and skins, on Tuesday, were well competed for. Hideb sold at from jijd to 3^d; skins, 2s id to 5s jd; greasy .wool, ojd. Cattle. There has been .1 good supply and spirited demand. There was a slight impro\ement in dairy stock, and stores sold freely, notwithstanding that many granors are refraining from making up their herds until the forthcoming fair. There was a large number of all descriptions yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday. Competition was good throughout the sale. Fat beasts, well up in condition, did not decline in value, but for those insufficiently fatted seHers had to submit to a shade lower rate. We quote : Dairy cows, £7 to £q ss ; dry cows, £3155; yearling steers, £2 i^s 6d to £3 10s ; two-year-old steers, £q 7s 6d to £5 1 21 6d ; three and four-year-old steers, £$ 15s to £8 10s; twoandthrec- > ear-old heifers, £4 to £5 ss; beef, 22b to 30s. Sheep: Abo\e the average number were penned at Newmarket on Tuesday, and for fat sheep there Was a decidedly upward tendency, 2s Od per 81bs. having been gi\ en for bestpens. Lambs were in adequate supply, and sold at front 7s 6d to 15s. Pigs were tolerably plentiful. The demand was brisk, and improved values wdre obtained.
