MANGAPIKO HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

Thk monthly meeting of Trustees of the above District was held at Paterangi on Saturday, September 25. The minutes having been read by the Secretary, the correspondence of the month was read and discussed. A letter was received from the Public Works Department covering one from Mr Harper, objecting to the late closing of roads. The Secretary was instructed to reply, and state that the road principally objected to by him lias been just granted to Messrs. Bosanko by Special Act of the General Assembly. The Railway Traffic Manager having requested the opinion of the Board re Time-table, it was decided to recommend the train leaving Auckland at S a.m. and Te Awamutu at 10 a.m. Accounts amounting to £14 10s Gd were passed and paid. The Secretary was ordered to notify Mr A. S. Hill to level the ditch across public road which he has made, and also Mr Conn to remove furze just planted on the road-side. The Secretary was also instructed to write to the vaiious landowners interested m the roads closed with the view of making arrangements for disposing of the same as by law pro- i [ vided. j A few small repairs; being authorised, | the meeting adjourned till next meeting clay.
