August 20, 1878. The following correspondence has been transmitted by .telegrams from Wellington by E. G. McMinu, Esq., M.H.R., to Mr W. Sloane, Te Awamutu :— August 16th. — " Have communicated ' with the Hon. Mr Macandrew, re Rail-way-terminus, Te Awamutu, who has shown correspondence for. two years. Ministers willing to assist! Will meet Mr Macandrew, or Mr Blackett, on Monday, to go over plans. Will communicate result." August 20th. — " Terminus settled at Te Awamutu, in Goodfellows paddock, as fixed, Contract is offered to next lowest tender. Answer hot yet received. If not accepted, f re3h tenders will be called for on short notice." August — . "The appointments are all made." I may explain these appointments are: Mr Thomas Gresham, to be Coroner, and Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages, at Te Awamutu ; Mr Edward Parsons, also of Te Awuinutu, to be a Justice of the Poace. Kihikihi to be a telegraph station. A uurober of invites have been issued for the ball, to be hold in Kiliikihi on Friday ixi, eli fc next.
