HAMILTON EAST SCHOOL MEETING.
A meeting .of the ratepayers of tho Hamilton East School District Avas held m the School Room, according- to notice given on Saturday ovom'ng 1 last. Mr Seddon was voted to the chair, and Mr Harris acted as Secretary to the meeting-. A statement Avas made by the Chair-" man showing that tho sum of £» av:is due to the Board of Education, which was subscribed at once by a few gentlemen present. Captain Steelo proposed, and it Avas unanimously carried, that a vote of thanks be accorded to the out-going committee. Mr Breakellhaving been appointed scrutineer, the following gentlemen Avero then dujy Proposed, seconded, and" balloted for, with tho iollo wing rpsults, A'iz.: 'Captain Steele, 25 ; He^ra Harris, 15; McDonald, 14; Potter, 13; Seddon, 12; Beale, 12"; Coates, 11; W. Coleman, 7 ; Tippin, 6; Hunt, o. The seven first Averc declared duly elected, and Captain McPherson Avas appointed auditor. Captain MoPher.son moved a A*ote of thanlcs to the chair. Avhioh was carried unanimously. •Aftcywanls the hcav committso met, and elected Mr Soddon chairman, and appointed the iji\st meeting of committee tv Luke place at the S«hooi"li.-jom, Hamilton East, on Tuesday the l(3th April, at 7 p.m. Mi 1 Field avus elected clerk to the Board.
