Mr Sheebun, in reply to Mr Cnspo, said that provision had been made for the Great South Road from tho estimates, and that if communication between it and tho railway station at Pukekohe, and between the station at Tuaknu and the Waikato River should be reported upon as feasible the work mistht be undertaken. Mr Sticehan, in reply to Mr Darguvillp, said it was the intention of the Government to ask the Knw«ka.wa Coal Comonny for payment of royalty, and he believed the Company were ready and willing to meet the demand. The second reading of the Appropriation UiU was deferred next sitting ; also, the City of Auckluud Loan Empowering Bill (second reading), and ' the Newirket Site Bill (third reading). The Tuakau Road Bill wbi read a second time, and paused through committee. Mr Philips obtained leave to introduce a bill to authorise the change of the objects of trust of Coolahan's mill dam goir, Government Domain.
