Mr Nash said he had nothing tc my about any appointments to fill the vacancies. Mrs E. L. Stone has written to t-lv Minister of Public Works (the Hon. R ’ Semple) aljout an attack in Parliament in which he said: “She is not fit to be at large. She is too vile a character to be called a woman.” Saying she has been told she cannot bring a libel suit agaiust a member of Parliament for anything said in Parliament, she challensre' the Minister to waive his parliamentary privilege and consent- to her issuing ■ libel suit. “I ask you to give me tlia-t opportunity and thus show the publu that Parliament lias not become a ensth for cowards who will say under cover of privilege wjiat they would not dart to say without , that protection,” shr states.
