BOROUGH ROADS.
We recently referred to the disgraceful state of the Bay Road, but so far little or no improvement has taken place. The grader at present used in the Borough is not capable of doing the work, and the Council should take steps to have a por-, tion of the road kept by the County Council grader, which the Borough roads every morning. From inquiries from the replacement officer we learn that twelve men are employed by tho Riverton school committee, three more are to commence work in cleaning out a private ditch in South Riverton, while only three remain on sustenance, the lowest number for some time past. Notwithstanding the large amount spent on education it would be more satisfactory for the Borough to utilize the twelve men now employed hy the school committee in carrying out much needed work in the Borough. If proper representations were made these men could be utilised in widening -tlie Bay Road in South Riverton, which i s ' far too narrow and a danger’ to both* ;pedestria,n s and motorists. We, trust the Borough will take the necessary steps to have ' thiswork carried out at, once.
