WAIMATUKU RIVER BOARD.

® A meeting of tlie above held m the Secretary’s office on Friday was attended by Messrs Alex McKenzie (Chairman), G. T. Calder, H. Mathieson, J. C. Morton, C. H. Tucker, T S Muirliead, J. H. Cowan, It. Kennedy and J. llance. The Minister of Internal Affairs acknowledged the appointment of Mr C. H. Tucker as a member in place of Mr Campbell, retired. The rates for the year .1929-30 were struck for the district at Id in th e £ in first grade 3d in the £ in second grade and §d in the £in third grade.

Messrs Peterson, Fraser, Brown and Buchanan waited on the Board as a deputation in regard to the proposed work on the Otahuti stream and the overflow- through the old channel. — Resolved that the Chairman, Clerk and Messrs Kennedy and Cowan of the Board meet the above deputation together with Messrs W .Young, R. Hector and F. J. O’Connell of the proposed Sub-division on the ground and attempt to arrive at a complete understanding. Members of the deputation returned thanks for the hearing and reception.

Resolved the same Sub-Committee inspect the Taunamau in company V with the contractor.

Accounts amounting to 242 15s 8d were passed for payment. The Sub-Committee appointed by the public meeting had handed in their quota of costs and a mai-lted plan defining the proposed area to be taken in, which plan had been forwarded for approval.
