A conference of teachers was. held in the Riverton school on Thursday and Friday. Kith and 17th inst. Many were present, including Mr John Gray (lecturer) whose oration surpassed that of Mark Anthony. Mi Imrlis. M.A'., M.Sc (Inspector), attended the conference on 'Thursday, bin left Riverton -by the evening train in order to attend the conference held at Lunisden on the following- day. The annual conference < r teachers is to be held in Invercaivill ou Friday, March 31st., when all the teachers of Southland are expected! to attend. —Correspondent.
