W ALLACETO \VX STOCK SALE, Tbo fortnightly sale wan held in the Wa-llacetown yards on Tuesday, when there was a fair entry in all classes. Eat Cattle.—The sale opened slack, but after a few pens had been sold tightened up, only to fall away again when the final race was being offered. The yarding was a mixed one, and the earlier part of the sale light prime beef sold well, but when the butchers’ requirements were filled eased. Prices per - hundred! wore on a par with those ruling recently. The highest price, obtained was £ll 7 < (3d, which J. E. * Watson and Co. secured for two prime bullocks on account- of Mr J. Hawke, purchased by J. L. Hannon and Co. The following ' prices were obtained! at auction.: —Prime bullocks, £lO 2s 6d to £ll 7s (id, good mediums £7 7b (3d to £0 10/-, light and unfinished £s' Id/- to 1 £7. Store Cattle.—The yarding consisted mostly of dairy cows and heifers, but these did uot find a ready sale, unices showing plenty of breeding. Only one line of istore cattle was penned, and this was passed at auction.

Eat Lambs. —The fat lamb market opened, briskly, and maintained an improved tone throughout, freezing buyers competing freely for all lots offered Buitable for export. The price ruling for -good lambs was about per lb, with a strong demand. The highest price was paid by J. L. Ilannon and Go., who paid 28/- 'for a small pen of exceptionally prime lambs sold by Dalgetv and Co. Prices obtained at auction were as follows: Extra prime 26/- to 28/-, freezing weights 21/- to £l/6, light and inferior 1-1/- to : 19/-. Fat Sheep. —The entry contained some nicely finished sorts, and prices were well maintained', bidding being keen on ( account of freezing buyers operating on lines suitable for export. A good percentage of fat ewee was offered and these commanded a Teady sale. The following were the prices: Prime wethers 22/ to 27/-, light unfinished 16/3 to .20/-, ewes ranged from 13/3 to 17/6. Store Sheep. The demand for lambs reflected on the store sheep market, and for ewes and lambe there was a better enquiry with more competition. Good young ewes sold readily and a line of 2,4, and 6tooth brought 20/-, other prices ranging; down to oj- according to age and quality. There was a big entry of store lambs and anything well forwanQ realised good prices, 16/- being paid for a good line; other prices ranged down to ,6/9.
