RIVERTON S.M. COURT.

TUESDAY, APRIL 13. (Before Mr G. Oruickshauk, S.M. and Warden——Warden’s Court.— John Carroll, Receiver of Giolcll Revenue v. Stewart Island Tin and Wolfram Lodes, Ltd., for £lB 7s 6d and. feiture of mineral license.—Judgment for amiount'claimed, and forfeiture as from February sth, 1920. —Juvenile Court.—• Two boys were charged with breaking and entering a. hot house on Mrs Shieffelbien’s property, South Riverton, and stealing a quantity of grapes. —They were convicted and ordered to cornu up for sentence when called , upon. —Magistrate’s Court.— W. S. Hunter proceeded against T. W. O’Connell for disobedience of « maintenace order.—Convicted and sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment; warrant .not to be issued if he pays. £3 3s and 10/6 costs on 21st April. Judgment by default was given in the following case, C. E. Johnstone v. P. J. Cosgrove, £4 ss, costs 21/6. Joseph Hunter (Mr W. S. Hunter) proceeded against Albert Keen on a judgment summons.—Ordered to pay £4 17s Od oji 20l:h. April; in default 14 days imprisonment. Returning Officer for Wallace v. Adam Hamilton, M.P. Mr Patrick appeared for defendant, and pleaded not guilty. Constable Carroll said that within 70 days after the declaration of a poll every candidate mus t furnish a return of his expenses in connection with that poll. The poll was declared on 25th December. A return had been sent in, but it di'd not comply with the provisions of the Act, nor was it signed by the candidate.
