TUATAPERE STOCK SALE. There was a large yarding in both sheep and cattle at the above sale, 1 which took place at the yards on Monday, the usual date having been altered on account of the Southland Races. Buyers were present in good number, ami a fair sale resulted, Messrs J. R. Mills and Son report having made the following sales:—42 lambs 14s, 35 ewes 18s 3d, 118 ewes 15s 3d, 5 rams 265, 13 . lambs 21s 6d, 33 ewes 12a Id, 91 ©wee 21s 6d, 58 ewes 235, 28 small lambs 7s 6di, 39 ewes 17a Id, 18 fat sheep 31s, 87 lambs 19s, 41 two-tooth ewes and wethers 275, 62 two-tooth wethers 17s 4di, 70 ewes 16s, 63 ewes 18s 3d, 87 lambs passed. OREPUKI STOCK SALE. Messrs J. R. Mills and Son report having held the usual monthly sale at the yarclls on Monday, when heavy rain rendered ■conditions anything but agreeable. A very large yarding in both cattle and sheep was on offer, -but the attendance of buyers was poor, and the sale was “draggy” especially for store lines- Pen after pen was passed in, prices showed a drop all round. The demand for all* classes ' of store cattle was very slack, and, , sales were hard to effect. The sheep sale was rather draggy, and prices j were down a shade all, over cotta* : pared with the previous sale. In | spite of this we cleared our total yarding, which included about 1500 . sheep of extra good quality from Eastern Bush and Wairaki districts. CLEARING. SALE. Messrs J. R. Mills and Son held a successful clearing sale at Obanian on . behalf of Messrs Thomson and Georgcson, sawmillers, who have, given up the business to continue in the car- \ pentering and building trade. There were a few bargains to he had! during the day, and lots such as the mill plant, traction engine, and! cottages were bought cheaply, according to several experts. Despite this fact, the vendors were satisfied with the ; results. Sawmill shed aud plant, £l4O. One ; 8 h.p. Marshall traction engine, £152, Linton Coal Co., 3-roonied cottage, £27 10s, 3-roomed cottage, £ls; 2- i roomed hut, £l2 ; stable, £3O. Seventy small odd lots of timber, alt sizes, sold at prices ranging, from 10a to £4, but mostly averaging 30s.
