BECAUSE one of the most important Royal Commissions _ set up by the Imperial Parliament has reported that in all civilised and progressive countries Electric Power represents to-day a source of energy for productive purposes which is without parallel in the history df the world. BECAUSE the members of the Power Board elected by you are unanimously and strongly in favour of the Scheme, and because they urge you to support it. BECAUSE it means increased comforts in both town and country homes. BECAUSE it will give the country man’s wife all the home comforts enjoyed by the town and city dweller, BECAUSE it means cheap power, increased production and new industries. BECAUSE it will increase the attractiveness of the country and stop the drift of our population to other places. BECAUSE every detail of the scheme has been fully approved by the. Government experts and success is assured. BECAUSE every other country and other parts of this Dominion are seeking to do the same thing. BECAUSE Southland lias got the lead, and it will bo a big blow to the prestige and advancement of the whole district if it fails to take advantage of this great opportunity. BECAUSE Southland simply' must develop its magnificent natural resources or be but as a fifth wheel to the Dominion coach. It will bo if you don’t vote— FOR THE PROPOSAL If there is anything of importance to us to-day it is Electricity. There is no doubt about it. The coal trouble, petrol shortage, railway curtailment, deatr kerosene, carbide shortage, and dear gas, have brought it to the fore, and these troubles are still with us. Let us get busy and overcome them. Let us develop our own natural water power that is to-day merely running to waste. ...
