Wrey's Bush

From Our Own Correspondent. The annual sports held under the auspices of the. Wreys Hush, Picnic unci Sports Club, were held on tlhe school grounds on Friday 17th March. The committee had all arrangements well in hand, and a very pleusaLt afternoon was speiit. The Nightcaps Brae's Band dtiscoursod a good programme if music, which was greatly appreciated by all present. The entries for the various event's were large, and each event was keenly contested. Tho oflicials all worked hard to nunkie tho gathering a success, and the Judges anil handicappers gave every satisfaction. Tho following are. the results of tho principal items : Maiden 100yds,—W Barnard, R. Langlord, G. McKenzie. Sixteen en tries. Throwing stone —J. Crowe, J. Boyle. Ten entries. 120 yd& handicap Jas. Neylon, C. Maher, J. V a lli, 17 entries. Young Ladies race—Miss Hogan, Married Men's race—J. Brazier, W. Egan. Sack race—J. Waddell, 12 entries. High Leap—Win. Laugford, R Langlord, J- Waddell. 220yds hurdle handicap~C Maher, R. Langlord, G. Lindsay i; fourteen entries. Old married men's race—T. Cairns, A- V'uSli Young Ladies race—Mrs Murphy "and Mrs Cosgriff dead he a t. 410yds handicap— C. Maher, A. Foster. Eleven entries- The children were well catered for, with running, jumping, etc, all the afternoon. At an interval, refreshments provided by the ladiios, were dispensed.
