Four events were on the prcigramme, and the first event was . 220yds, rum in heats. Four started in the first heat, won by J. Johwftton, but as three qualified it w a s not very fast. The second heat was a good race, aeven starting, P. Church win- .' mng easily from H. Green. W. Ternt- plttcn ran well, but eased offi in the straight,' and .thus lost a chance of gottinfe in the final.
