To-night Riverton residents will have an opportunity of renewing their acquaintance with genuine minstrelsy and vaudervalle, by the Charles Maurice Company, which is fresih from extended seasons in Auckland, Wellington, ami Dunklin, under the direction oi Henry Hayward (of Wests’ Pictures unit ■Che Brescians fame). The • company is composed of export artists who , a rc really revivalists of the World-famous Mo o re and Burges Minstrel entertainment and judging from press reviews they have met with great success, ‘>‘Mr George Sorli” says the Otago Daily Times) is ' the nig man of the company, .and thoroughly established his reputation to be right at the head of burnt cork profession.” Madame Blanche Carelli is a singer, the like of whom is very rarely met with on the vauderville stage, and besides possessing a magnificent lyric soprano voice, she is endowed in no mean degree with an artistic teroperament. These two artists alone are worth hearing, although there are ten other capable contributions to a program mo which the management claim to be charming in refinement and rare in originality. The prices are popular and should ensure a good attendance.
