Bible-Class.
The Rev. J. C. ‘Jamieson, travelling secretary for the Bible Class Missions, is at present in Otautau holding meetings in the Presbyterian Church. He began on Sabbath 7th, and is to continue till Wednesday. The meetings have been moderately attended, on account of fine weather when farmers took the opportunity to get on with their work, Which is so far back on account of the bad weather prevailing. The two Sdbbath meetings were well attended. On the past Sabbaths evident signs of blessing
were manifested. Last evening | (Monday) the combined classes '0 (young men and young tendered a social to Mr Jamieson Jy in the Town Hall, and during the || evening Mr D. B. Muir (leader of the Young Men’s Class) presented Mr Jamieson with a cheque in ap- m preciation of his work and wished ;j| him much success as well as happi- i| ness in his approaching marriage. fM Games and amusements of a!li| kinds were provided and quoits, ping pong, pit, draughts, carffs, i etc., all claimed their circles of admirers and an enjoyable time was spent. During the evening .addresses were given by the Revs. T; Macdonald, Jamieson, Beckett and Mr D. Muir, all bearing on the Bible Class movement. The remarks of £ all the speakers were well received £h and heartily applauded. The ladies provided a splendid supper, and needless to say was done justice to by the A pleasant evening was brought to J a close with the singing of “ God 'M be with you till we meet again,” j andthe pronouncing of the Benedic ; i|a tion by the Rev.
