Sydney. Eastern files state that 150 rebels from the exterior swept down upon residents of a little colony at Kawang railway station, midway between Jesselton and Papar, in British North Borneo (the property of a company) and butchered the inmates of Chinese shops. The band of murderers then turned their attention to the coolies, most of them Chinese, killing and wounding them in a savage fashion. The railway engine driver aud his 'wife were murdered, and th e carnage then became general. Males, femalas, and babes were butchered in cold blood. The murderers also set fire to the houses and huts.
