MASSACRE IN BORNEO.
Sydney. Eastern files state that 150 rebels from the exterior swept down upon residents of a little colony at Kawang railway station, midway between Jesselton and Papar, in British North Borneo (the property of a company) and butchered the inmates of Chinese shops. They attacked the station, smashed the telephone, and killed the wife and child of the stationmaster, the latter saving his life by hiding hi the bush. The band of murderers then turned their attention to the coolies, most of them Chinese, killing and wounding them in a savage fashion. The railway engine driver aud his 'wife were murdered, and th e carnage then became general. Males, femalas, and babes were butchered in cold blood. The murderers also set fire to the houses and huts.
