Herr Max Nordau contributes to the " Neue Fttie Presse" an article on Mr.Austin,whom he considers " the most perfect embodiment of Anglo-Saxonism in the literature of our time ; arch-English in his likes and dislikes." The rulinif classes of England," he proceeds, " are the most powerful race of masters the world has i>eeu since the Republic ol Rome and the eurly Roman Empire, and Alfred Austin is one of that stock, To please an Englishman one must be strong and daring."
