INVERCABGILL MARKETS. Wright, Stephenson and Co. rsport b«ving held their fortnightly sale ot Wallacetown yards on Tuesday. For really prime beef competition was 'keen and good prices were realised. Medium quality and half fat sold at quotations. Fat sheep were well represented and as supplies were in exoess of batcher's requirements, prices for old ewes and inferior mutton showed a deelins of 6d to Is. . , Fat Cattle—B2 yarded. Prime heavy bnllooks brought £8 10s to £9 7s 6d; good, £6 15sto £7loa; smaller, £l lsa to£6; inferior, £3 10a to £4 7s 6d; speyed heifers and cows good, £4 5s to £5 ; smaller, £3 15s to £4. Store Cattle—2s yarded. Little or no m--1 nuiry. Fat Sheep—H72 yarded. Good heavy wethers, 12« 2d to 13s; lighter, 9s to lis 7d; best ewe*, 8s 8d to 9s 6d ; smaller, 7s Id to 8s 3d ; aged and inferior, 5s 2d to 6s lOd. Store Sheep—39o panned. Old ewes, 3s 9d to 4s 6d ; hoggets, 4s 9d to 7d. Skins—At last sales prices ruled as follows :—Good heavy crossbred, 2s 8.1 to 3s 9d; lighter, 2s 2d to 2a 7d; torn, &o, lOd to la 8d; pelts, 2d to 7d ; rough fat, 10s 3d ; rendered tallow, lis 6d to 12s 6d. SKIN REPORT. Tothill, Watson & Co report haying submitted a good catalogue of sheepskins, hides and fat at their weekly sale on Monday and disposed of everything at good prices. Ordinary station crossbred are bringing 4d to 4Jd per lb; superior do do, 5d to 5Jd ; good butcher's green skins, 3s 3d to 3s 8d each. Daring the week we sold privately a line of 3000 freezing skins at ft satisfactory figure. Hides are iu great demand and mil prima ox are selling up to 22s 6d each; fair hides are worth 3d per lb; inferior, l*d to 2d. Tallow —best rendered, 12s 6d to 14s per owt; rough fat, 7s 6d to 9s. DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET. Oats—The market remains very quiet owing to the scarcity of orders for shipment. Several lines of medium to good feed were offered, and quotations are:—Prime feed, 2a 3d; fair to good, 2* Id to 2s 3d; medium and inferior, Is 9d to 2s. Wheat—There is no change to report. Owing to the want of buyers, it is useless to quote for milliog,as as prices are only nominal. Fowl feed sold at from 3s 4d to 3s 7d. Potatoes—Tho demand continues strong, and all prime samples are readily sold. Prime Derwents, £7 7s 6d to £7 12s 6d. Chaff—The market is well supplied, but chiefly with light cbaff, which is difficult to place. Prime, £3 7s 6d to £3 12s 6d; medium, £3 2s 6d to £3 ss; light and inferior, £2 17s 6d to £3; straw ohaff, 275. DUNEDIN STOCK MARKET. Fat Cattle —185 yarded. The competition was good for anything prime at last week's rates. Prime bullocks, £8 to £9 7s 6d—one extra prime, £lO 17s 6d ; good, £6 10s to £7 10s; half fat and inferior, £3 10a to £5 10a. Fat Sheep—l9Bl penned. Competition for prime was a shade better than last week, and these may be quoted at an advance of 6d per head; other sorts brought about laat week's quotations. Prime heavy crossbred, 13a (id to 14s 9d ; medium, 10s to 12s 6d ; light, 8s to 9s ; extra prime crossbred ewes up to 14s; good, 10s to 12s ; light, 6s 6d to 8s 6d ;fat lambs up to 9s, Pigs—l4o penned. Suckers, 5a to 10a; stores, 19s to 23a; porkera, 283 to 365; baooners, 40s to 60s.
