CRICKET.
v The retnrn match between Riverton and Orepuki was played on the local ground on Wednesday, the 24th inst. Owing to the absence of several of their best players, the Orepuki team made a very poor stand, being all disposed of for 17 runs, of which McLean contributed 12. Riverton responded with 137 for 8 wickets, thus winning by 2 wickets and 120 runs. For the winners Rowley (26), Moore (21), Clark (20), Cantrell (18), and J. R. Mills (13), played well. Wilson and Coglan for the visitors and Robertson for tho local team did good work with the ball. Following are the scores:— Orepuki.
