STOCK AND STATION REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report for the week ended December 5, as follows: Stem Cattle.—The market remains steady. A rery fair demand is experienced, and, with only a somewhat moderate supply, prices invariably are more in favour of sellers. There are a good many young and small sorts offering, all of which meet with buyers; but aged, big-framed cattle have the moat attention. . Store Sheep.—The market in the meantime, does not show much animation, transactions being few and of small importance. The season, however, is fast approaching when it is expected that a very considerable amount of business will eventuate, and at prices which it is to be hoped will be satisfactory to all concerned. Wool.—The tone of the market at Home is ■ evidently changing for the better. Late cablegrams to hand report the market firmer, and competition increasing. In expectation of large withdrawals, bidding had a hardening tendency, good sorts more particularly receiving th i most attention, and prices obtaining for such showing an advance of id to Id per Bj above opening rates The French and Americans are said to be operating freely.
