ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A little boy named David Gray M’Cleary, 16 months old, was killed at his parents’ residence, near Brighton, on Friday, under very painful circumstances. It appears that Mrs M’Cleary, who was attending a horse working a chaffcutter, loft the boy for a few minutes while she went to the house to get him a piece of bread. During her absence the boy got on the track of the horse, and was knocked down and trampled upon just as the mother was returning. Dr Will was sent for, and on arrival found the child had received s were internal injuries. He did what he could, hut an hour and ahalf after Ihe sad mishap the child died;
William Beattm, a station manager, was found drowned in the lagoon at Oamarn on Saturday. Ho must have fallen in. A fatal accident occurred on Thursday evening near Wellington. Kafco Butler, a domestic servant, was riding in company with a young man named M'Pheo to a dance at Wangaehu, when the horse bolted and she was thrown over an embankment, and her neck was broken. Doceared was 22 years of age, ani is believed to have been a native of Auckland.
