Brisbane, Feb 25, stock; Fat Cattle.—The entry, owing, doubtless, to the holiday, was a small one, only 89 head being yarded, and but few of these being prime, the greater portion aged cow beef and three parts fat steers. Although the supply ■was under the average it did not cause any improvement in the demand, which was sluggish all through. Best bullocks brought £6 10s to £7 10s ; medium to good, £5 to £6 5s ; light, £3 to £4 10s; best cows, £4 15s to £6 2a 6d; light and medium to fair quality, £2 5s to £4 10s.

Fat Sheep.—The supply to-day consisted of 1328 crossbreds and 260 merinos—in all 1528. Several lines of these were crossbred wethers, good to prime, and a few pens of the ewes to hand were also nice quality. Best crossbred wethers brought 12s 9d to 14s Cd; medium, 10s to 12s 6d; best do ewes, 13s 3d to 13s ; medium, 9s to 11s 6d; merino wethers, 9s to 12s lOd. Fat Lambs. —There was a full supply of these to hand, 737 being penned, ranging in quality from inferior to medinm and prime. The demand was hardly so brisk as last week. Best brought to-day 9s to 11s 3d ; inferior to medium, 5s Gd to 8s 9d. Pigs.—There was a small supply forward in this line, only 76 being penned, but quite sufficient for requirements. Suckers brought 7s Gd tolls; slips,T4s; stores, 15s to 20s; porkers, 22s to 275; beconers, 30a to 355. Sheepskins. —Good catalogues of these were submitted at the auctions this week, nearly all the buyers in the trade present. Competition was fairly active for butchers’ green skius, especially well saved, early shorn shearlings; while for bare and badly saved pelts there was less demand, and prices a shade easier. Country dry skins had good attention, and realised very satisfactory prices. Of these crossbreds, low to medium, brought Is 9d to 3s 9d ; do do merinos, Is 8d to 3s 7d ; full-woolled crossbreds, 4s 9d to 6s Gd; do do merino, 4s 2d t" 5s 9d ; dry pelts, Is to Is Gd ; green crossbred pelts for special purposes, 2s 8d to 2s 2d ; good to medinm, 2s Id to Is 7d ; inferior, Is Gd to Is 3d; green lambskins, 2s Gd to Is each.

■ RaLbitskins. —A good market exists for the few that do como to hand. Spring skins realise Od to Is; summer do, 5d to 8d; half grown and mixed, 3d to 4d per lb. Hides.—A moderate good demand exists. Prices range, for heavy weights, free from scars and offal, GOlb and over, 2|d ; medium, 2d to 2|d ; light, lid to l|d; inferior and slippy, Id to ijd per lb. Tallow.—The market continues steady ; a fair dotnend is experienced. Late rates are fully maintained. Prime rendered mutton, 19s to 20s; medium to good, 16s to . 18s; inferior and mixed, 12s to 15s Gd; rough fat —best, 1 3s to 13s Gd ; inferior to medium and good, 9s to 12s Gd per cwt. GRAIN. Wheat.—Some sales in northern wheat are now being effected at about equal to late quotations ; but there is no southern as yet on the market, and, should the weather continue so broken, it will bo some weeks before there is any to baud. The market being bare for some time nf good milling, there is no difficulty iu placing any offering, and considering the fact that the market, at Home is slowly but surely tending upwards, the position in the mean.imo seems to be in favour of producers, and likely to continue so for the next three or four months at any rate. Prime milling velvet and Tuscan,’ 3s lOd to 4s; best red wheat, 3s Scl to 3s 9d: medium, 3s Gd to 3s 7d (ex store). The market is almost clear of inferior and good fowls’ wheat. Oats.—These have had a very fair demand during the past week both for shipment and local consumption, but now buyers are more careless about porrhasing, and only extra prime sample fetch up to last week’s top price. All the cl 1 stocks are about cleared out, an ! farmers busy seeming the new crop, deliveries are therefore at tiro moment on a limited scale. In consequence sales are effected at prices nearly approaching la(e rates bin: it is evident that any considerable quantity put on the market umesrvedly would have a propt effort on present quotations, which we give as follows—via. : For bright feed and milling, Is 5-Jd ; medium to good, Is 4id to Is 5I ; inferior to medium Is 2d to Is 4d (sacks extra). Barley has some enquiry for shipment, hut, in’]the absence of suitable parcels offering, there is no business resulting. Maltsters are o rerating, but only when really prime samples a-e offering. A goo 1 demand exists for feed and milling. Prime uniting at 3s to 3s 3d ; medium to good, 2s Gd to 2s 9d ; feed and milling,la;>.i to2s4d (exstore, sacksoxtia). Ryegrass S -ed. —'The market continues active, and a -onsiderable amount of business is boingput imough, which could bo increased if growers would only makeup their nfinds to fix the price iVw are disposed to quit at. Last wO-di’fj quotations—viz, for farmers’ best dressed, off old pasture, 4s 3J to 4s 8d ; medium to good, 3s to 4s. Cocksfoot, 4 id to 5d per lb. Potato,.g.—Bsst, £3 5s to £3 10s ; inferior, 42s to 5.3:'. per ton. Chaff.—There is no alteration to note.
