Blenheim, March 19, The Wanganui match, 200 yards, ten shots, was completed. Lieut. Robinson, of the local rifle corps, tied with Fredric (Dunedin) for first place with a score of 45, but the Dunedin representative secured the chief prize £B, Lieut. Robinson getting £6. The. six following marksmen made 44 each. March 20. The weather was again stormy. Auckland match, 200, 300, and 500 yards, was completed to day. Following were the principal winners:—Hartley (Dunedin), 82, £8; Purser (Blenheim), 79, £6; Richardson (Dunedin), 78, £5; Purnell (Wanganui), 78, £4. March 21. All the matches counting for the championship aggregates were concluded this afternoon, the following being the ten highest:—Parslow, Auckland, 435; Ross, Napier, 423 ; Foster, Wanganui, 418; Parker, Blenheim, 413; Okey, Taranaki,, 412; Riddle, Waimate, 411; Waters, Port Chalmers, 406; Atkinson, Wellington, 405; Johnston, Clutha, 404; J. Dickson, Portobello, 403; Bunting, Napier, 401 : The Martini-Henry match was fired this afternoon, the highest scorers being Okey, Taranaki, 79; Blenheim, 78; Remington, Wanganui, 76 ; Ross, Napier, 75 ; Acheson, Riverton, 75 ; Sontag, Waikari, 75. Lieutenant Fosterj Wanganui, won the Union Company's Cup. March 22.
Christchurch match—2oo and 300 yards (stalling at the former and standing or kneeling at the latter), 7 shots : —Sergt. Kercheri (Wellington Artillery), 70, £8; Lieut. White (Auckland Guards), 69, £6 ; Vol. Turner (Wanganui City Rifles), 67, £5. Major Acheson (Riverton), with a score of 60, took a £1 prize. (Received 8 p.m.) CHAMPIONSHIP. The last stages of the Championship were fired this afternoon. The belt, it will be seen, goes to Sergt. Parslow,Auckland, and the four next highest scorers also hail from the North Island : Parslow, Auckl'd Artillery, 509 Lie Hf. Ross, Napier Artillery, 504 Vol. Parker, Blenh'm City Rifles, 491 G-un. Taylor, Auckland Artillery, 489. Lieut. Poster, Wanganui Rifles, 487 Vol. Riddle, Waimate Rifles, 480 Vol. Dickson, Portobello Rifles, 480.
