Canon Bailey, of Hobart, about an hour before the steamer by which he was a passenger reached Melbourne, was taken suddenly ill, and he died shortly after landing. The suddenness of the seizure and the singularity of the symptoms, which were believed to bo those of incipient cholera, caused some trepidation on board, but it was discovered that his complaint had nothing of an infectious or contagious character.
