Robert Smith, claim of £IOOO damages for slander, was heard. The parties had a quarrel in a railway-carrioge arising out of defendant addressing plaintiff familiarly as “ Louie,” which lie resented, defendant being unknown to him. The altercation, it was alleged, culminated in an inuendo that Rodgers’ premises, recen ly burnt, were overinsured, and that- the fire had been a good thing for him.
