I .Tames Walker has- been arrested on a charge of commilting a rape on Ellen Peters on tho 19th February. The girl explained that the cause of the delay In bringing the pharge was that she had no mother or female friend. Her father had married recently, and she told her stepmother. Walker partially admitted the charge.
Wellington, Friday. The conference of delegates from, local bodies resumed its sittings td-' chv. There were only ten members present.
