"HessrsM'LßAN and Co. report for the week ending 29th December as follows: Fat Cattle. —A good supply came forward •to-day, 200 head being yarded, all fair to good - quality. The bidding was spirited, and prices ranged about equsl to those of last week. We -,-Bokl on account of Messrs Smith Bros, 6 head ’. at from £6 7s 6d to £7 2s 6d ; on account of Mr James Gall, 18 head at from £6 17s 6d to £7 15«. We quota prime beef 20s to 22»6d i per 1001 b. Fat Sheep.—The very small number of 853 ' was penned for to-day’s market, consisting ol : 200meriuoB, and the balance crossbreds, which ■ sold at from' 6s 6d to ,7s 9d for the former, and ‘iromTTf’iSdtto t 9« iW for (the Jotter.: but no ■ doubt had" the trade not suclnlarge supplies on hand, prices would have been considerably better. ’We sold, on account of Mr John Gibson, Ashley Downs, 200 erossbreds at from ;7o fid to 8s fid; on account of Mr Geo. Inglia, 40 crossbreds at 9s of Mr William Turnbull, 17 crossbreds at Bs. We quote prime mutton l|d per lb. Fat.Lambs.—A full supply of 577 came forward, ana were sold at from 5s to iOs 6d. We sold a-draft of 30 on account of Mr William Turabullat up to 10s 6d. Fat Cairns.—Six came forward, and sold at -from 14s to 81s 6d each.

Fat. Pigs.— Seventy -two prime quality were forward, and realised from 15» to 36s each. W* quote prime pork 4d per lb. Country Sales.—On Thursday, 23rd instant, we held a clearing sale at Warepa, oh account of Messrs G. and A. Cameron. There was a largo attendance, and everything offered realised satisfactory prices, vis.-.—Crossbred •wethers, 7s Id; ditto ewe hoggets, 6s lOd; ditto.ewes, two, four, six, and eight-tooth, 7s ‘Bd; ditto lambs (mixed sexes), 5s 2d. Store i eattle, £5 to £5 10s; cow* and heifers, £4 10» ‘to£B j young stock, 35s to 50s. Also, at Mobygiel, on .Friday, _24th instant, 60 head store s«ttle, on account of Mr Douglas, at from £3 .7* 6d to’£6 12s 6d.

Store Sheep.—We hare numerous inquiries for all descriptions of young sheep, but few k!e are at present offering. ITor the week we hare no transactions to report. Horses. —There still exists a good demand for draught and light-harness horses. On account of Saturday being New Sear's Day, • our sale thin week will be held on .Friday instead. We quote heavy cart-horses, £3O to £43 ; . medium, £lB to £26; light-harness, £ls >to £25.

i-herpskins.—We did not hold our -usual sale this week, owing to Monday being a holidar. Onr.-next sale will bo held on Tuesday, 4tn January.

Hides and Tallow.—Quotations are .unaltered, the former continuing in good de mand at SJd per lb for wet-salted, and 20s each for butchers’ green hides ; and the latter at 25s per cwt. for prime mutton, and 16s for rough, fat. Grain. —Wheat: No change to report. Prime samples for milling are readily .saleable .at 4s 9oL; ordinary descriptions are less inquired for. 'Quotations: 4s 2d to 4s 6d ; fowl feed, 2s 3d to 3s 3d. Gate: Prime milling,,ls 7d; feed, is 4d to Is 6d, without much in.quirr. Earley continues dull of sale, and -quotations are nominal.
