THE PROPRIETORS OF THE WESTERN STAR have much -pleasure in notifying that th« 4 journal is issued now twice weekly, viz., WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY The Western Star is the only journal published in the Western District of Southland and in consequence has a large circulation in Riverton (the nearest town to the Longwood goldfield) the adjacent important mining centres of Orepuki and Round Hill, and Jacobs’ River, Thornbury, Flints’ Bush Gummie’s Bush, Groper’s Bush, Wild Bush, Waimatuku, Wuianiwa, Limestone Plains, Otautau, Oreti Hundred, Wrey’s Bush, &c.
