There are still many unoccupied ranges, where the business can be successfully prosecuted, but ihe exercise of more judgment and care is required than at any previous time. Experienced stockmen engaged in ranching see the probabilities of the near future, and are preparing for the effects of the disposition to overdo by improving the quality of their stock. It is stated that 30,000 cattle are crossing over the •Comanche reserve from Texas. The “ Omaha .Herald ” says. the drive of cattle from -T©xa? : will be heavier this year than ever before, the number being estimated at 300,000. Many of the stockmen of Western Nebraska are now making preparations to add largely to their herd of Texas cattle.
