Maororie and Cuthbertson report: — We have held two important sales of stock during the week, both fat and store, at Wallacetown and Wyndham, and the prices in the Mataura district proved on the whole more encouraging than those of the more central locality. The following are the rates at each centre, viz.: —At Wallacetown yards : Pen of store steers, £7 10s per head ; do younger, £4 per head ; pen spayed cows, £4 10s ; do heifers, £3 9s ; 2 pens cows, £3 2s and £4 13s respectively ; 2 pen steers, £3 14s and £4 6s; 2 pens heifers, £2 12s and £4; pen steers and heifers, mixed, £4 5s ; 2 fat cows, £7 12s 6d each ; pen calves, 14s each ; mixed pen, £3 7s; worKing bullocks, £2O per pair At Wyndham yards : 3 pens steers, £4 16s, £B, and £9 ; 2 do fat cows, £7 10s and £8 ; store do, £4 10s; do half fat, £6 2s 6d; mixed lot, £3 3s per head ; 2 bulls, £7 per head. Sheep : Fat wethers. 9s 3d to 12s 3d ; mixed store crossbreds, 6s 6d and 7s 6d ; lambs, 3s Bd. Horses : Medium draughts, £lB to £25 ; hack, £8 to £l2. We also sold the lease of Recreation Reserve, 110 acres, at 5s 6d per acre per annum; section and cottage, £6O. At our rooms in town we quitted to one buyer 2 sections Campbelltown, 2 ditto Winton, and 20 acres Dipton, for £l9O.
