Says that irrepressible sheet the ‘Lyell Argus’: Court Grandfield sued Morrow and Burdett for interference with a head race : The Witnesses were unanimous in (as one expressed it) thinking that “ This eer dam was in trouble ”, another swore She was made of stone and was 8 inches high, and remarked that if he put a stone in a race, that he reckoned he demd the race j one witness literally did dam the race, and got fined 20s for contempt of Court, altogether from the happy appearance of some of the witnesses one would imagine that they knew something about spirits as well as water, or perhaps both mixed. After patiently hearing the case his Worship gave judgment for Grandfield, damages 5 shillings.”
