It appears that just as she was leaving the wharf, the boiler burst, but fortunately without doing any very serious injury to any of the passengers, although one of the firemen had his, foot severely scalded. Amongst the passengers were various members of the Circus Troupe, who had with them a number of the horses, one of which, Abd-el-Kader, was very severely scalded;. Another, of the horses was likewise injured through a. rush of steam getting into the fore-hold, where they were confined, and we. understand that the loss has been estimated by ifr Wilson, the proprietor of the Circus, at something like £I,OOO, Mr- and Mrs George Darrell, and a full company, were also passengers, for Invercargill, where they had made arrangements to oppn for a, season, on Tuesday evening (14th), The Comerang left Dunedip on Monday afternoon, and arrived at Invercargill next day, hut started on Thursday op. her return journey, without coming to Riverton.
