In view of the School excursion to Napier to-morrow and the runner-boys being on holiday for the occasion the “Press” will not be delivered until a later hour than usual. The School Excursion Final arrangements were made today for the annual school excursion to Napier, to-morrow, weather permitting. The train leaves Waipukurau at 8.35 a.m., and on the return journey departs at 5.10 p.m., being due here just before 7 p.m. The Licensing Election In connection with the election ot a Licensing Committee for the Waipawa District is is understood that the same conditions apply as to the closing of hofels and retail premises on the afternoon of polling, if a contest takes place, as is the case at a general election. Nominations close at noon to-morrow with Mr W. M. Fraser, Returning Officer, Waipawa, and if they exceed the vacancies to be filled then an election will be necessary on Tuesday, March 10. the hours being 9 a.m. till 7 p.m. “Tip” for the Races.
