A meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Branch (Waipukurau) of the New Zealand D.X. Club was held on Wednesday, a large number of members attending. After the general business had been disposed of, the various cup competitions were decided, resulting as follow: —

Broadcasting Election Results.

Most sets will be tuned to the YA Stations on W’ednesday, November 27, to get the various election progress reports. IYA, 2YA, 3YA, and 4YA will be broadcasting until midnight. * To Stamp Collectors. The secretary, Mr. L. Mathie, has been requested by two radio men and stamp collectors in Japan and Cuba respectively, to be put in communication with two local stamp collectors. Anyone interested is requested to advise Mr. L. Mathie, who will supply the addresses. The next meeting of this branch will be held on Wednesday, December 11. A good attendance of members is requested, as arrangements are to be made regarding the annual meeting in January.

Members of the branch were fortunate in having a visit from a wellknown Queensland amateur, Mr. GeoHeillron. A most pleasant evening was held at the secretary’s residence. Three New Zealand amateurs were also present: Mr. W. Vinten, of Waipawa, Mr. H. Hutana, of Porangahau, and Mr. Graham Goodger, of Waipukurau. Mr. Heillron broadcasted a special D.X. programme for the New Zealand D.X. Club on Monday morning, from 12.30 a.m. N.Z. D.S.T. The frequency was approximately 1420 kilocycles.
