PADDY’S MARKET

IN AID OF MAORI QUEEN . WEDNESDAY NEXT Oil Wednesday (Election Day), a .■monster function has been arranged by the Maori Queen! Committee to be held in shop (premises, Ruataniwha Street, Waijpukurau, next Yates’ Cash Stores. This is to take the form of a Paddy’s Market and a host of attractions has been arranged in conjunction with it. There will! be meat, produce, and cake sitaills,. etc., also a Maori Stall at which all kinds of Maori goods wifi be sold.

In cooking arid fancy work a number of compistitions are being held and handsome first and second prizes have been donated for these, also a trophy for the highest points in all classes. Two classes in flowers are provided for —best bowl of roses and best bowl of decorative flowers. There will also be sheep weight-guessing ajnd a ehai,n-step|pi|nig competition. The star attraction will be a grand baby show. There are four classes in this, viz., Class A: Baby under 6 months; Maori baby under 6 months; baby over 6 months . and under 12 months; Maori baby over 6 months and under 12 months. .Judges have been appointed as follows: —Cookery, Mrs J. K. Lee; fancy work, Mrs M. Murphy; flowers, Mrs H. Hooper; baby show, Dr J. O’Dea. Donations of meat, produce, cakes, etc., arc solicited, a.nd all such gifts will be .greatly a|rprec(!atled.
