AID OF MAORI QUEEN

PRIZES FOR COSTUMES

On Friday of this week a Grand Children’s Ball is to be held in the Waipukurau Theatre. The function will be of a plain and fancy dress nature and numerous prizes are to be awarded. > Among these are trophies for most original fancy dresses (boys and girls),, most original dresses (boys and girls), daintiest tiny tot; smallest debutant, and prize for best adult fancy dress.

A special feature will be the presentation of the debutants (tiny tots) ■and prizewinners to the Maori Queen (Miss Hine Hutana). This will be carried out with all due ceremony, in which the Boy Scouts will be as-

sisting. Father ’Xmas will also be present and a distribution of toys will take place.

A specialty is being made of the supper and this will be of a novel nature —one that will appeal particularly to the youngsters. Dancing for adults will commence at 10 p.m., at which hour all children will be off the floor. The music will be by Les Anderson’s Orchestra. The prices of admission are: 5/for family ticket (admitting parents and all children in family); 2/- for adults, and 1/- for children.
