RIOTING IN BELFAST
A SCHOOL BURNT DEATH ROLL NOW iSEVEN BELFAST, July 18. The worst fire of the week occurred in the Conway Street School, where incendiaries worked so thoroughly that the fire brigade was helpless. James Andrew, aged 17, who was woundecTby revolver shot on July 15, died in hospital, bringing the death-roll to seven. The centre of trouble in the riota has moved to the western districts, where Protestants and Catholics have received anonymous warnings to leave their homes. The Lord Mayor, at the instance <of leaders of religious denominations, political, business and trade-union organisations, appealed for peace. He urged citizens mot to gather in the streets, to refrain from offensive language and to resume their ordinary work, adopting a conciliatory spirit to i fellow-workers of different religion and J polities.
