Two New Zealand youths, George Cabb (aged 18) and Cyril Fox (aged 18), built a canoe on an Aberdeen farm, intending to sail to England. They began their voyage down the Hunter river on June 6 and are now nearing Newcastle, where the navigation authorities, who describe the venture as foolhardy, will insist on certain precautions before the youths put to sea.
