TRAIN DERAILED
PASSENGERS’ LUCKY ESCAPE NONE SUFFER INJURIES SYDNEY, July 14. A train derailment occurred on the western line, 23 miles from Bourke. Twelve Carriages, a heavy oil tank and a brake van plloughed up the permanent way, doing considerable damage. Forty-eight passengers were hurled on top of one another. All escaped with a severe shaking and shock. Portion of the train halted at the top of ia high embankment and would ipirobably have fallen down tie other side but for the fact that recent rain had softened the ground and the wheels became deerply embedded, retarding their progress.
